Hanan Samadi graduated from the University of Tehran, Tehran, Iran in 2021. She currently serves as a research assistant at the School of Geology at the University of Tehran (Iran), the School of Mining and Geoscience of the Nazarbayev University (Kazakhstan), and a researcher at the Civil Engineering Department at, the University of Halabja (Kurdistan Region). Her research interests focus on intelligent construction, robotics, and underground space and tunnelling. She has published more than 40 journal papers, conference papers, and technical reports. She serves as the reviewer and editorial board member of some journals. She was the keynote speaker and TCP member of several conferences such as ICCEIC, etc. She was the chair of the first Student-Scientific Congress of Mining Engineering and Geology, in 2017 and chair of the Scientific Students Committee of the 7th ICRE in 2020. Hanan Samadi also won some grants, awards, and honors. She was selected as a finalist as a “Young Tunneller of the Year” for the ITA AWARD 2024. She received “Woman Research Award” from the World Top Scientists Award, was selected for the "World Top Scientists Award" under the "Excellence in Research Award" category, and was also the winner of the "4th INNOMINE Festival" for presenting practical solutions to apply mechanized excavation (TBM) in mining operations and developing novel programming environment in the field of tunnelling with artificial intelligence approaches, etc.
